I’m not going to write a lot to this Psalm today but intsead just share the words from Fischer’s version that spoke to me and then share some photos of the last few days. So with that...(emphasis mine of what connected the most)
Who shall ascend your mountain? Who shall stand in the place where you stand? The one with open hands The one with a quiet heart... All in all, this is the fire All in all, this is what burns ever bright1
So, in the spirit of open hands and a quiet heart...and few words…
This was from Saturday early evening. A friend saw this and said it was stirring a lot in him but he didn’t quite have the words. I’d love to hear what this stirs for you.
From just looking to the left of the last photo - roughly the same time, but different direction.
And from the same spot…Jesus ducks!
Both of these from this afternoon. The snow that came after the heavy rain, thunderstorms, and sleet overnight into this morning. Crazy. Also, there’s something perfect about black and white with snow photos.
These next pairs are from two different mornings, but speaking the same thing to me. What happens when we change our focus and our perspective and how that allows us to see new things.
One is the focus on the leaves...the other the tree's reflection. Just a small change of focus...
The next morning at a different park. The glints from the frost were so evident when walking by but a still photograph doesn't show them unless the the image is put deliberately way out of focus. Then the glints show up so clearly. In this case, it takes a pretty big change of focus...
This next one is from this morning early (in between the thunderstorms and rain and before the sleet and snow). I loved the way that the light from the stop light illuminated the path, the hill, and the bench as well.
And of course…
And finally...Scout from this afternoon. On the walk and then in her favorite place to sit in the car. She’s my Chewbarka, my fuzzy copilot :-)

Open hands, open heart, the now famous bench, still water is all an invitation to step into the water and float on the surface. I love to float on my back when I’m the only one in the lake. It takes just a little bit of energy to stay afloat like that and the sky doesn’t offer a point of reference whether it’s cloudy or pure blue. This is resting in the arms of God.
Jesus ducks - Hahaheeheeeheee.
