John 20 - The New

Last night, I went for a sunset walk at the Manassas Battlefield. I’ve been out there for sunrise many times but this was my first sunset time. As I was wrapping up, I noticed that several of the cannons had muzzle holes that were just about the same size as the glass bauble that I’ve been using for pictures. Walking around on a beautiful cool evening, the gorgeous colors in the sky, and seeing all the silent cannons, I got praying about what Jesus came to do and ultimately what happened through the resurrection that John 20 speaks of. I was praying about how we all could begin to live the new way that Jesus showed us to live - life of community, of love, of grace, of forgiveness, of truth, of hope, of welcome. Can we live in a way other than the way of the cannon? Can we live The New?
