I think the visual color effect behind your heron is called "ombre." You found the first ever Blue-Eyed Susan (instead of black-eyed susan). And, lastly, you obviously have a different kind of Magnolia Tree than I do. You have a true southern Magnolia even though the leaves look considerably smaller than the southern variety. I have noticed many of those magnolias around Ft. Thomas this year - all are blooming fantastically. Happy Summer!!
Such calming pictures. And the Sweet Bay Magnolia, the amount of rain is responsible for the profusion of flowers, I think. It is proof of climate change because when I was growing up, those trees only grew here in very sheltered places like a corner of the garden next to the house or garage. They do fine here now.
