It is easy to skip over much of the instructions in this part of Exodus about the specifics of building the tabernacle, listening to the dimensions of the building, or the specifics of the clothes for the priests. But mixed into those instructions is a lot of vivid details of colors and materials. As I read them, I have a hard time really visualizing all of it but I love the fact that part of our worship is making things beautiful - a communion table, a sanctuary, a bulletin, visual media, liturgical wear, paraments, all of it. If God cares about how beautiful these things are, shouldn’t we as well?
