Romans Photos - 6:15-19 - Paths
Romans 6:15-19 - Slaves of Righteousness What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that you, having once been slaves of sin, have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were entrusted, and that you, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.

I have been waiting to get this picture for a few days now. First, things have been really crazy and I haven’t had time to shoot the last few days, but even more so I had in my mind where I wanted to get a picture and today was the first day I could get there. As I read this passage, I had in my mind two paths that we could choose from - One that we can see where its going and one that we can’t. For me at least, in this passage, it feels like the path of sin is the path that we know where its going. We know where that will eventually lead - Paul has already laid that out - its not the path that we will want to go. The other path, the path of righteousness, is one that we may not see where its going, but is the path that we are called to follow.
