Retreat
There was so much richness of Spirit-speaking the last few days as I have been on retreat but this picture probably captures the last few days for me. It was also tied to a message our general presbyter sent to all the pastors in our region. Her message was an article about pastors in the midst of the divisive situations and conversations that seem to be all around us. The line that stood out to me was the following:
Both sides are spinning. We stand in the gap. Offering Christ to both as the solution to all.

One of the things that I love the most about this retreat center is their prayer labyrinth (I’ll have a post on that specifically in the coming days). In the center are three stumps and in the middle of those stumps is this stunning wrought-iron cross. On one of my walks through it, I stuck my camera in between the back stump and the cross and took this picture. It spoke to me of trying to look out at the world through the eyes of Christ. In the background, you can see the “Enter” sign pointing to where to start your prayerful journey through and beyond that the large meadow that surrounds.
So, there will be more that I’ll be sharing about what I heard these last few days as I have been praying on what it means to see through the eyes of Jesus and to seek to live the Way of Jesus. But let’s just start here.
“Offering Christ to both as the solution to all.”
