Psalm 119:33-40 - He- Turn
Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes, and I will observe it to the end.
Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.
Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it.
Turn my heart to your decrees, and not to selfish gain.
Turn my eyes from looking at vanities; give me life in your ways.
Confirm to your servant your promise, which is for those who fear you.
Turn away the disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.
See, I have longed for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life.

I heard the Byrds as I read this passage this morning. Turn turn turn. Turn my heart to God's decrees, turn my eyes from looking at vanities, turn away from the disgrace that I dread. Turn away from the darkness and to the light of Christ. I heard a lot in this passage about repentance - turning from what was to what can be going forward. While this is something that is often thought of as a single event in one's life - in reality, its an everyday (sometimes moment-by-moment) decision to make. Today, I am intentionally going to focus upon the ways that God wants me to live. This moment, I am going to make the choice to live in the way that I see and hear in God's Word. Turn from what was to what will be.
