Psalm 119:169-176
Let my cry come before you, O Lord; give me understanding according to your word.
Let my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.
My lips will pour forth praise, because you teach me your statutes.
My tongue will sing of your promise, for all your commandments are right.
Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
I long for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight.
Let me live that I may praise you, and let your ordinances help me.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek out your servant, for I do not forget your commandments.

This Psalm marks the end of Psalm 119 and it ends with a very different tone than it began. While there are verses of praise and joy, the last verse sounds like it was written by one who feels lost and abandoned. It got me to thinking about the Lost Parables of Luke with the lost coin, the lost sheep, and the lost son. In all 3, something valued is lost and the "owner" doesn't stop until it is found. And tn when found there is great celebration. It gets me thinking of the times I have felt lost and others have sought me as well as challenging me about how I am seeking those who may feel lost themselves. This last section of this incredible Psalm speaks to me of how one can be one way on the outside but feel radically different within. Am I listening to truly hear where others are?
This picture was of a bunch of flower blooms that had fallen from a tree near our house after some major rainstorms today. I saw this as I was out today and realized that I needed to take a shot of them. I saw this bloom in particular that looked like it had exactly when it was on the tree, yet it was fallen and "lost." I know that this bloom will never be able to be reconnected to its source and its beauty will fade (probably has started to do so already), but in capturing it in this way, the lost is found to a degree.
Also, this marks the end of this remarkable song. 176 verses, 22 days. All beauty.
