Psalm Photos - 100 - Generations
Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Wow - Psalm 100 - 2/3 of the way through the Psalms. I am so blessed to be at this point and to experience the joy and renewal that has come from this project. I have seen the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord in such wonderful ways. As I read the last line of this Psalm about the generations that have experienced the faithfulness of God, I immediately went to August of 2004 when we drove down with our 2 month old twins to see my grandmother. Grandma was the last of our grandparents who was still alive - it was a rough trip (traveling with newborns on a 4 hr road trip was not an easy thing) but it was worth it in so many ways. My grandma at that time was dealing with fairly advanced dementia, but something happened when she held her little (emphasis on little) great-granddaughter that day - it was like Grandma was “back.” She laughed with her, played with her little feet, and just held her little girl for nearly an hour as we spent this blessed time with her. It was the last time that I saw grandma before she passed away and it was the absolute perfect memory to have of her. This picture is a treasure for me - me, my dad, my grandma, and the twins - 4 generations, over 100 years of history and life. As I think about the generations, 4 is just a small blink in the grand scheme of the countless generations that have come before and have experienced the faithfulness of the Lord. I give thanks for the generations before me and pray for the ways that we will live out our faithfulness to God for generations to come.
