Psalm 5 - Enough
Julian of Norwich prayed, “God, of your goodness, give me yourself, for you are enough for me. I may ask nothing less that is fully to your worship, and if I do ask anything less, ever shall I be in want. Only in you I have all.”
Enough...a hard word to live. I know I struggle with it when the "shiny new thing" comes out. Yet what I heard in this psalm is a focus on what is central and most important, especially at the end of the Psalm where the writer speaks of provision, protection, and rejoicing.
Mornings speak of enough for me. The sun rising each day, dew on the grass, birds singing, my time in the Word. All remind me that God provides.
