We have created a phrase in our house...dognertia. Dognertia refers to when Scout cuddles up next to us and somehow her super power starts to kick in where it is suddenly a lot harder to get out of bed or eyelids get heavier...etc. Dognertia. I went to dognertia with Psalm 4 today. After a couple of Psalms in a row that were a bit rougher around the edges, Psalm 4 ends with a deep sense of stillness and peace.
Here are Fischer’s version of verses 5 & 8
Be still:
Offer that
For it is fitting
Trust it
For it is the rightness
Of all that is //
And I will lie down
To sleep
With a deep peace
For in you
I find my completion
Notice how this version seems to speak to “being still” is that which is fitting to offer to God and that being still is something we can trust and that it is the rightness of all that is. Godnertia?
Grace, Peace, Love, and Joy,
