PhotoPsalm 10 - Looking Up

When we look only at the surface, we see the distortions
We feel the waves and the ripples that transform
We no longer fully reflect the image of God that is in us
We are like the image in the darkened mirror

But when we look up, we see who we were created to be
We no longer see the effects of the waves and ripples
We see clear lines and the graceful beauty
We see how we were meant to soar on wings like an eagle’s (or a Heron’s)

Lord, help us to not only do this for ourselves
But help us to lift the eyes of others
So all can see your image in themselves and in others
So all can soar and be free.
