Perspective on the Rain

We are at peak color right now for Autumn in Ohio. The reds, oranges, and yellows, and all kinds of variations are stunning right now. The other morning, I went out early on a beautiful sunny morning to take it all in and that picture is posted below. But as I start this Grow-vember of beauty, gratitude, and love, the weather outside today isn’t nearly as cooperative. Or is it? The picture I took this morning is a different kind of beauty - the beautiful color of Autumn but mixed with the beauty of the rain that is falling this morning.

Speaks to me of how perspective changes things. I could have looked at this day as “ugh - so grey and drab and ugly.” And in some ways, it definitely is. The sun isn’t shining through the colors, it isn’t as pleasant to walk outside, and so forth. But there is always beauty to find if we are intentional about looking. Sometimes right in our path like this.

Thank you Lord for this reminder of beauty in spite of circumstances.
