Observing Advent - Day 13 - Justice

Observing Advent - Day 13 - Justice I've always been a superhero and comic book fan. Goes back a long way and included many trips to Timewarp - My home town's only comic book shop as I was growing up. I don't know if there was much of a deeper meaning to my fascination but I think today of how it seems that there is a new comic book movie coming out every week. I don't know if there is a deeper meaning to this today - are we looking for new heroes today because our traditional heroes have failed us? Many comic book heroes were about a form of justice - specifically criminal justice - whether it was Batman, Superman, or countless others. But that's not the only form of justice that we need to be concerned about as Christians. As followers of Jesus, justice is helping to bring freedom to the captives, hope and change for the oppressed, and on. Justice is setting things right. This pic is of a gift bag that has shown up the last few fathers days and birthdays. Not all heroes wear capes. This is us as Christians. We don't need capes just courage and obedience.
