Matthew 9-10 - Reaching Out

Reaching out but not quite there - that’s how I feel about the end of chapter 9 of Matthew and most of chapter 10. It is Jesus naming the twelve disciples and then sending them out with a bunch of instructions and “heads-ups” for when they go out. They haven’t gone out yet but that’s where they’re headed. It is what I feel when I look at this picture - there are two things that feel like they are reaching out to one another - the tree changing in autumn and the clouds approaching. I know we are in that place today as the church - we are reaching out and we’re connecting in some ways but there’s still more to do and to be as the followers of Jesus’ way...
