Matthew 12 - Grain
Sunday, I was with my contemplative photography group and we were sharing our last session out at a local cemetery. The assignment was to find things that spoke to us of Life. As I was walking, I saw these reeds growing out of a local pond and they looked a lot like wheat to me. I stopped and just took some time to feel them and I remembered the passage I read that morning of the disciples in Matthew 12 picking and eating heads of grain as they walked. A simple act that reminded me of the simple act of eating and how essential it is to life in general and how wheat forms the basis for one of the foundational staples of life for people - bread.
