Matthew 1 - God-With-Us

So, I am starting into round 4 of the Gospels. This last round through for the year I am going to try to post a picture (and maybe a reflection - depends on the day) with each chapter of all the Gospels. We’ll see how it goes. But that’s my goal at least.

Matthew 1 begins with the genealogy of Jesus and then into Matthew’s telling of the birth of Jesus. Verse 23 - “...and they shall name him Emmanuel which means ‘God with us.’” That last part has been with me. God. With. Us. Not us with God. Not us going to God but God to us. That is a radical, turn-the-world-upside-down idea.
