Mark Photos - 11:12-14 - Fig Pt 1
Jesus Curses the Fig Tree On the following day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see whether perhaps he would find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

So, I started writing this last night at about 10pm and realized that I took the wrong picture. I took a picture of a dying plant because that's what eventually happened to the fig tree. Problem with that is that the tree isn't dead in this part of the story. Its still very much alive and vibrant, but just not the season of figs. Its like our beautiful magnolia tree in our back yard. Right now, its green, beautiful, and healthy. But we have past the season for the gorgeous magnolia blooms.
We'll get into some more on the meaning of this action when we come to part 2 tomorrow, but for now we are left with the weird question of "why" - why did Jesus do this?
