Mark 12 - Offering
I love taking pictures of hands. There’s something about them - the ways that they tell the stories of peoples’ lives, the way that they reflect the longevity of someone’s life, and the ways that they connect with one another as people hold hands with another. I took a series of pictures a few years ago about offering and I’ve got a whole ton of hands pics like this one - hands outstretched. In Mark 12 are several stories that speak to me of what we offer. “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s” and then the story of the widow’s tiny offering to the synagogue and they simply reminded me of what I am offering to God on a day to day basis...am I giving sacrificially of myself for God’s work in the world?
