Mark 11 - Fig Tree
Straight up...I don’t like the fig tree stories in this chapter. Feels like cranky Jesus again like the woman from Mark 7. In fact this passage said that he was hungry when he came to the tree looking for figs even when they were out of season. Couldn’t he have made the point without withering the fig tree? Regardless, this story had stayed with me the last few days as I was trying to find where I would see it around me. It came this morning on my walk with Scout. This tree and all of its red leaves on the ground. This tree was one of the first to change colors this Autumn and it is the first to look like winter is here.
