Lent 40 - Celebrate
Same Catholic center as I’ve been walking the labyrinth nearly daily has this sculpture just near the entrance to their Stations of the Cross. As you can see, it is two adults playing with two children. The children are just about to run through the tunnel that the adults are making. Our town has a tunnel tradition for 4th graders. At Field Day on the last day of school, all the adults - staff and volunteers - who are there make a HUGE tunnel for the 4th graders to run through as they run from elementary school into middle school. It is an absolute celebration.
I love that this center has a sculpture like this that reminds us of the necessity of play and celebration. Our discipleship lives are not only about things that we get so serious about but it is also about how we play with one another, how we laugh, how we find and share joy.
