Lent 25 - Listen
Last night our kitchen was filled with the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of homemade donuts. I guess the feels were there too (especially later after eating too many of them - ugh). Anyway…it was the sound that was most significant. The sound when the dough first goes into the oil and starts to brown, is flipped and the sound starts up again and then the simple, gentle crunch sound upon biting into that warm, fresh donut after it has been drizzled with glaze and sprinkled with sugar (or any of a host of other things). I suggested that last night was our homemade version of Duck Donuts. So, there’s my “listen” for the 25th day of Lent…
