Imago Scriptura - Psalm 107 - Story
Psalm 107:1-3 O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, those he redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.

This is one bit of a longer (much longer) Psalm that tells a story - it tells the story of God's steadfast love through the ages to God's people. Its a beautiful Psalm that tells both the high points and the low points. It doesn't gloss over the troubles nor does it simply paint a perfect picture of their history. There are many other similar stories in Scripture, including Paul sharing many times over of his past life before Christ and what has happened since.
I was shoveling the driveway again and I saw this block of snow/ice that fell off the car from when we had driven somewhere yesterday. Its not the prettiest thing in the world and its a collection of snow, salt, ice, dirt, etc from all the places that we went. It is a collection not of a single moment or a single place, but of many. As I saw it, my first thought was "where did all that come from?" and it got me thinking about the story of the places that all contributed to its formation.
As I further shoveled the driveway, it got me to thinking about my story - what are all the pieces that have come together to bring me to where I am? Where are all the places that God has met me along the way? What is your story?
