Imago Scriptura 76 - Psalm 8 - Chris
This morning my friend Chris and I went on a short walk to watch the sun rise (5:15am) over the lake near our campground. He and I have been friends for a very long time and its been wonderful how our respective wives and kids have also gotten along so beautifully. He and I had a wonderful talk about life, faith, and our families. The combination of the relationship that we have and the beauty of the sunrise that we witnessed was what I heard in the words from Psalm 8 this morning…
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established; what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?
I am grateful that this Creator has blessed us not only with ways of knowing him through the beauty and wonder of creation, but the ways that we can know God deeper through the others that God has put into our lives. I am grateful for Chris for the ways that our journeys have intersected over the years and how he has made an impact on my life and I believe me in his as well. So, when we look to the heavens we can see the Creator and when we look at the other humans that God has put into our lives, we are reminded of the depth of God’s care for us. Thanks be to God!
