Imago Scriptura 30 - Free
At the core of Easter for me is a message about freedom. In the story we read in worship today from the Gospel of John, there is a setting free from the pre-conceptions that Mary and the disciples had about what was actually going to happen with Jesus. There is a setting free to believe something that seemed to be utterly unbelievable. In the daily readings for me today from Luke, there is a setting free from the bondage of possession and illness and a setting free to believe in one who has power beyond anything we can conceive of. After all, didn't Jesus say in him we would know the truth and the truth would set us free?
So today, its a simple looking up to the heavens through the life that we celebrated today and rejoicing in the fact that in the resurrected Christ, we are set free. Alleluia!
