Imago Scriptura 121 -Complete
Courtesy of leap day, I finished reading through the Bible yesterday morning. So over the last 365 days, I made it through Genesis to Malachi and Matthew through Revelation. There were moments of beauty and wonder as well as some parts that were just tough to get through.
Kind of sums us 2016. There has been a lot of talk about how awful a year '16 was. Yes there were some rough parts and yes some of those will carry over into '17. But through it all, God is still in control just as God always has been and God always will be.
So my last post of this journey through Scripture goes to something that always reminds me of the power, wonder, mystery, hope, and beauty that is in Christ. I see those things in the sun that rises each day. Some are more stunning than others or more memorable. Yet as the writer of Lamentations shares in 3:22-24...
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him"
So, as we enter 2017 remember that hope and live in that hope. See the beauty and rejoice in the beauty. Trust even in the midst of challenges. God hasn't changed.
