Imago Romans - 12:1-8 - Conformed
Romans 12:1-8 - The New Life in Christ I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.

So I went on a hike yesterday with an idea in mind of what I was looking for in a picture of this passage, but as is often the case, something else made its way into my heart. The pond at Rowe was frozen over but had a dusting of snow/frost over it. But right in the middle of the even pattern of it was this spread of frost that looked like a breeze had blown just that small section. I didn't see it happen - just the results afterward. I think that's how the Spirit works in the ongoing work of transformation in our lives - we cannot always predict how or when the Spirit will move - just that the Spirit WILL move. And the Spirit often leaves evidence afterward that shows what has taken place. It is sometimes felt in the moment, but other times its only seen when looking back. So, be open today to how the Spirit will move in you, in others, in the world.
