Hope 06 - Foundation

A dear friend of mine shares that he understands his purpose in life is to simply be a blessing for others.  It is such a beautiful encouragement to hear that from him and to see the ways that he truly lives it out.  For him, that is a foundation for his life, if not the foundation.  This morning, I read about foundations and hope in Psalm 62:5-6

For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him.  He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.

I got to praying this morning about what are the foundations for me like my friend's foundation of being a blessing.  And I thought about finding and sharing beauty.  That is not only a foundation for my own personal life but also in how I see what I am called to share in the world.  There is so much ugliness in the world and so much that doesn't reflect the Creator - I see one of my gifts is being able to see and share that beauty with others.  So that is a foundation for me that gives me hope each day and I see it as a foundation for how I serve and share in the world.
