Gratitude 11 - Fog
I love foggy mornings. So, this morning when I woke up, I was so excited to see the thick fog outside. It was still dark when I looked outside and saw the beautiful glow of the streetlights through the fog. It was beautiful this morning. As the sun started to come up, I went outside to see how things looked before the fog burned off and I captured this shot as I was looking down our street. While Scripture reminds us that God has a path for us to follow (see Psalm 119:105, Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 3:5-6, John 14:6), I have found in my discipleship that we don't see the whole path ahead of us. We may see a few feet in front of us or a few steps ahead, but the whole path isn't clear, either when we look ahead or sometimes even when we look back. Its like the fog this morning as I stood in the middle of the road for this shot. Whether I looked ahead or looked behind, I could only see a little ways ahead - the rest was obscured by the beautiful fog ahead. And that's the last part for which I am grateful today - while I cannot see the full path ahead, I know that God is before me and God is behind me and God surrounds me and there's nothing to fear.
