Ephesians 3:16-21 - Two Sunrises
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Ephesians 3:16-21
These two pictures were taken on the same day (February 23) but two years apart.
The first was the start of a day that was a gift to simply be on my own in the Colorado mountains and to listen, to reset, to work, to pray. The second was yesterday morning as I was taking my weekly sermon walk before heading to worship. Both speak to me of these words from Paul in Ephesians 3. I know Paul says that his prayer is for them (and us) to have the power to comprehend the everything of the love of Christ and to be filled with the fullness of God. To me, those are both concepts that we grow towards but never will experience completely in the here and now. There is always more to discover, more to experience, more to take in of what God has done. And yes indeed, to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.
