DisGrace 04 - Power
Power
Today was the final day of the conference and it was the lifting up, the resurrection, the pointing to hope. The last few days were times spent with the cross with Good Friday, the silence of the tomb of Saturday, and then today with the story of resurrection. The closing worship tonight was deeply moving - we were reminded of the power that is in us by the Holy Spirit, we were moved to remember the words we heard earlier in the day that we are called to be people who make a difference against racism and division, and we came around the table and shared the meal that reminds us of the power that is imbued into the table.
The challenge of course is that the mountaintop always has to be left. The beauty of the community gathered here the last few days disperses back to the reality that awaits each of us. But we don’t go alone and for that I am grateful. We return to the communities from which we came and we return with the conviction of the last few days. And we go and we serve in the power, the power, the POWER, of the Holy Spirit
