It's kind of oxymoronic to say that the novel, the magical, is all around us. I'm also thinking of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and how we have the power to understand what is holy in multiple ways. Did your kids bury anything in that tree? What would have happened if you let Scout go? Would she not have returned? Can you imagine a wild, feral Scout?
