Onto day five of seven of my “delight radar” this week. For those who may be “just joining”, here’s the initial post for this week that inspired these daily posts.
A great night's sleep (at least according to my watch's sleep tracker). This is not a usual thing - I am not a very good sleeper...
Four of my favorites in one photo - Scout, a sunrise reflecting in the water, the bench, and a heron
The growing number of blooming flowers
Just after seeing the flowers, it was starting to drizzle, but we were standing in just the right place where we were seeing the rain on the water about 30’ from us but it was not raining right where we were. That changed a few moments later, but for this one moment…
As I pulled into Planet Fitness, the woman getting out of the car next to me got back in and said she wanted to asjust her parking so I had plenty of room to get out of my car. It was a small but wonderfully gracious act
I had the first of my "meetups" with folks from my new congregation. It was a wonderful conversation but one moment in particular was exceptionally wonderful. There was one of those "holy coincidences" that happened with someone who overheard us talking. The photos are of the signs in this coffee cafe that I thought were perfect to describe the time as a whole and the "moment" in particular. The coffee place is the Just Love Coffee Cafe in Colerain. Check it out!
An evening with just one of our "kids" (our 19 year old - maybe a better term would be low-mileage adult) and a dinner together then spending time together playing one of the most fun co-op video games I've ever played
A bit about subscribing. I don’t anticipate pay-walling any of my posts because I feel that this is a gift that God has given me to share. So subscribe for free. All good. If you do, however, want to help support my work, you can subscribe for $3/mo or $30/yr and for that you will receive my deepest gratitude that you trust me with your resources to continue to share these things. Thank you.
Congrats on the good night sleep! My little joy for today...I stopped in at the library to drop off some books and mags to recycle and as I was leaving I glanced at the section of the library for the real little kids. A boy about 18 months old was sitting on the floor in front of a bookcase. He had picked a book to read and had it open in front of him babbling with accentuation and commitment pretending to read. So sweet.
