Calendars!

First off, calendars are available! You can order them from my site linked just below. Like last year there are three different ones available (each in 8x11 or 12x12 sizes). The 8x11 are $29.99 and the 12x12 are $34.99 - tax and shipping are included in the prices. The three options are - Psalms with Scout, Expansive, and Herons

Colors!

Give your servant a harvest of good things as I walk the road of life, watching over your words to do them.
Open my eyes to see the mystery and wonders you bring to light as I walk the road of life.

Those lines come from Sacred Song 119, verses 17-18. Another way to put it would be Psalm 119:17-18. My morning devotional reading is the First Nations Version of the Psalms, which was released earlier this year. It is such a rich and unique translation of the Hebrew and beautifully conveys a unique way of expressing these sacred songs. But these might be my favorite lines I have read thus far, especially the second.

I experienced this in full on Friday morning with a perfect morning walk at Rowe Woods. Like my last sharing, the autumn colors are nearing peak around here. There was a gentle fog, a relatively clear sky, and the temperature was in the low 40s. It was lovely. Poor Scout didn’t know that she was going to end up gonig on a 5+ mile hike when we went out. However, even as we were going up the limestone steps toward the end, she was running up the steps and I had to keep slowing her down. It was perfect.

There was also this cart that caught my attention. The photo doesn’t show it well, but there were such beautiful layers of the leaves in the bottom of the wagon, the water on them, and then leaves on the surface.

I am grateful to have had my self (not just eyes, but heart, mind, and body) open to what we were blessed to receive yesterday morning. I hope the photos bless you as well.

Some of What I’ve Been Listening To

On our way back, I started listening to the most recent Startalk podcast which wasn’t about astronomy or anything but instead one about what loneliness does to our brains. I also recently listened to an enneagram podcast which was a conversation with an enneagram 5 named Joel Miller (no, not the Joel Miller from The Last of Us).
