Isaiah 6 is one of the most stunning passages of Scripture. It not only shares the story of the call of a prophet but it paints a picture of the presence of God that is nearly impossible to comprehend. In the middle of this experience, these nearly indescribable figures around the throne of God call to one another with these words:
Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
the whole earth is full of his glory.
I really cannot conceive of what that place might have looked like but I do know that there are moments on this side of heaven that feel like moments of stunning glory and draw out moments of the holy. I’ve been blessed to experience several of those the last few days - from a Carrie Newcomer concert on Friday night, a heron mirrored in the glass-like water of a lake, and then a sunrise that was indescribably beautiful.
