Bible in a Wordle - Found - Luke 8
My experience with yesterday’s Wordle (FOUND) felt very much like a lost-and-found. Two words where I had none of the letters and then the next where I, by accident, got 4 of the letters right but then another round of not getting it right until getting it on my 5th word with FOUND. Lost and found. I found it interesting that this was the word on the Sunday after I shared in our services on the Lost parables in Luke 15 - the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son(s). Each is a story of something being lost and then found again. And then in the Monday Bible reading to come to these words in Luke 8:16-17
No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
Luke 8:16-17
Our lives are to be about shining the light to others and about bringing what is hidden out into the light of God’s love. There are plenty of other passages in the Gospels of lost-and-found - these words from Luke 8, the parables from Luke 15, and these words from Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
What are you finding of God today? How are you being found in God yourself? Also, the sermon video from Sunday is linked below as well.
Grace, Peace, Love, and Joy to you.
