Beholding (The Extended Edition)
I’m a sucker for extended editions of films (or of books). In my view, there is no theatrical version of the Lord of the Rings films or original printed version of The Stand. In my view, the only versions of those are the extended ones that go well over 12 hours and 1000+ pages respectively. Extended editions arise because these stories are sometimes seen as “long enough” for the release versions but there is so much good stuff that could be shared.
Over the last several months as I have been beholding (colors), I have felt a bit like one of those editors who had to leave scenes and moments on the proverbial cutting room floor. So now that the original has been released, I wanted to share a few more of my favorite images that didn’t make it into the posts - most of them were simply that the color had already been shared or as still to come. But before the images, there was this reminder that I saw in a daily email I receive…A quote from Terry Temptest Williams:
The world is holy. We are holy. All life is holy. Daily prayers are delivered on the lips of breaking waves, the whisperings of grasses, the shimmering of leaves.1
Of all the additional photos, this first one is my favorite
