Having many gay friends and a trans family member, I truly respect everything you wrote. And wonderful thing about Scout and any animal is that they are accepting to all.
Years ago I went to a Chicago gay pride parade because I wanted to experience it for myself which is usually the way I roll instead of taking or adhering to another person’s opinion of anything really. I’ll never forget that even one of those that I went with confronted me with some sort of faith question as if going was some sort of dichotomy. I remember my reaction as if it were today - fast and unequivocal all I said was “What would Jesus do” but I’ve always been a bit sus about some that protesteth far to much about some things. I’m also one not to get sucked into such things and generally render to a “Content of character “ rule before making any assumptions about anyone and I really don’t care who or what one supposedly is or says they are. Kinda like the get that huge log/s out of your own eye thing first.

Same here. I had a a gay uncle my folks never talked about. I met him when I was 19!
You also reminded me why I prefer animals to most people.
Yes, my niece is rarely mentioned. I continue to visit her but I am about the only one. People are so mean.

"She comes in colors everywhere... She's a rainbow" One can't help loving that endearing doggy grin!
