As we were leaving Acadia yesterday morning (sniff sniff), we had stopped at the main visitor center and saw a beautiful quote as we were walking out. From his book The Yosemite, the wise and beautiful John Muir wrote this...Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike.
What a gift it has been, seeing your stunning images and reflections captured throughout your visit to Acadia. It is such a balm for the weary soul. Thank you for sharing.
Acadia has long been a bucket list destination. Now that my son lives in Boston, it’s closer to becoming a reality. We are planning a family trip hopefully for next fall. Thank you for sharing this week. It truly is a spectacular place.
While I was out walking in Boston this morning I saw a quote on a UU congregation’s sign from Dostoyevsky that said “Beauty will save the world.” Pondering the truth and limits of that today
During the Civil War, generals on both sides agreed to go around Savannah, Georgia because the city was too beautiful to damage. Of course, people have to be taught to honor Beauty.

You are most welcome. 🤗
I really admire your gift of calm, your ability to describe such beauty and photograph it to share. Thank you for letting us in on the trip.

Truth-Beauty-Goodness. Beauty is the top of the triangle for me. I can't breathe without it.
