2013 Lent Photos - Day 07 - Wonder
Having children has taught me a great deal about "wonder." There is a wonderful beauty that children have at learning the world and understanding the world around them. A pile of sticks and branches is not just a pile waiting to be picked up for the trash, but is instead pieces waiting to be built into a fort. A giant box is not just cardboard to be collapsed and recycled, but it becomes a transmogrifier (my kids have started reading Calvin and Hobbes). Tools in the aisles at Lowes are things to be marveled at. Every sunset is amazing. There is wonder in the eyes of a child. Its no wonder, then, that Jesus said, as recorded in Mark 10:14-15..."Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.”
So, day 7 of Lent...Wonder...in the eyes of a child...
